Terms of Service

Last updated: May 17, 2026

By using SteamVault you agree to these terms. SteamVault is a free, hobby-run service. We can't make formal guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or data retention. Use it at your own risk and have fun.

1. The service

SteamVault reads publicly available data from the Steam Web API and presents it as profiles, leaderboards, comparisons, and other achievement-tracking views. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation or Steam. “Steam” is a trademark of Valve Corporation.

2. Free and ad-supported

The service is free to use. We do not charge for any feature. We may display advertisements or accept donations to offset hosting costs. We may add or remove features at any time.

3. Your account

You sign in using your Steam account via Steam OpenID. We do not store your Steam password. You are responsible for the security of your Steam account. If you sign out, the session cookie is cleared.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use SteamVault to harass other users, post illegal content, attempt to bypass rate limits, scrape data at scale, or interfere with the service. We may remove forum posts, suggestions, or profiles that violate these rules and may revoke access for repeat offenders.

5. User content

You retain ownership of anything you post on the forums or suggestions board. By posting, you grant SteamVault a non-exclusive licence to display, store, and moderate that content in the course of operating the service.

6. No warranty

SteamVault is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Achievement rarities, completion percentages, story-detection results, and other computed values are best-effort and may be wrong. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on the data shown.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, SteamVault and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Steam's terms still apply

Your use of Steam-sourced data is also governed by Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement and the Steam Web API Terms.

9. Termination

You can stop using SteamVault at any time. We can suspend or terminate access for users who breach these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
